Florence News 09/10/20


 The Florence Church of Christ will have a remembrance of the 9-11-2001 incident. It will be at the church yard at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 11th, 2020. Refreshments to follow. Everyone is welcome.

  Roy and Bonnie Duckworth and Michelle McClure attended the visitation for Brad Anderson on Wednesday evening in North Vernon. His brother, Bill is a close friend of their family.

  Happy Anniversary to Gary and Karen Wentworth. They celebrated their anniversary at the home of Roy and Bonnie Duckworth. They enjoyed a cookout with David Wentworth, Ken and Sylvia Byars, Mark and Rhonda Scott, Patty Chase, Glenda Sullivan and Judy Lozier.

  Jeremy and Shannon Jackson had a welcome home party for their son Nathan on August 22nd. It was well attended by friends and family. Nathan graduated basic training at Fort Leonard Wood and will complete AIT next summer where he will train to become a Military Police Officer and serve in the Indiana National Guard. Good for you Nathan from your Florence friends.

  On Wednesday evening an appreciation time for Inez Harker serving as secretary for 15 years for the Florence Flowers Home Ec Club was held at the home of Leona Adams. Those that attended included: Leona, Sylvia Byars, Sharon Patterson and Bev Stoops. They enjoyed cake and ice cream. Inez was presented with a beautiful pillow.

  Friday Patty and Glenda stopped by to see Shannon Jackson at Florence and later had a short visit with Sue and Sonny Westrick at Carrollton.
