Florence News 09/03/20

I (Patty) am feeling better and want to thank Glenda Sullivan and Bonnie Duckworth for helping with the news. They are still helping. I have moved to Switzer Square in Vevay and want to thank Denny and Mary Lou Bowman and others for their help with the moving. I really like it here at Switzer Square. The neighbors are all really good. Please call me at (812) 427-2299 with your Florence or any news you want to get in my column. Call Sunday or before to get it in that week until someone else takes it over.

My company has been Denny and Mary Lou Bowman, Glenda Sullivan, Nadine Swift, Mary Leo Archer, Smitty and Bonnie and Roy Duckworth.

The Florence Church of Christ had a really good dinner Sunday in the church meeting room. Many members and some guest enjoyed the good food.

Sherry Houze of Nashville, Indiana, is spending a few days with her mother Martha McKee at Switzer Square.

Roy and Bonnie Duckworth attended the Celebration of Life Memorial service for Brother Russell Lieb on Saturday at the Whitewater Crossing Christian Church, Cleves, Ohio. Brother Russell was Roy’s home church minister and he also officiated Roy and Bonnie’s wedding. He had retired three years ago because of health reasons after preaching for 60 years.

Richard and Leona Adams took Sue Turner to the Sunset Grill near Warsaw for her birthday last week and then went for a ride. Richard and Leona also visited Margaret baker one day and had Gordy Stutzman for supper several Sunday evenings.

Beverly Davis of Madison visited Teresa Turner of Florence and later stopped by Carolyn Lowe’s. They went to Mo’s for lunch.

Juanita McClellan Brown of Westport called Patty on Monday evening. They had a nice visit talking about old times.

Bernice Chase of Ohio called Glenda to check on Patty. Bernice didn’t have Patty’s new phone number. She said Jerry had a couple of serious operations earlier this year but is feeling better.

Sympathy to the family of Vernon Romans of Pelion, South Carolina. Also to the Wayne Edwards, Sr family of Madison.

On September 11th at 7 p.m. the Florence Church of Christ will have a service to remember the events of September 11th, 2001.
