Its a beautiful, hot Monday morning as I write the Florence news. I will keep writing for Florence until someone else takes over since I’m living in Vevay now. I will need your news on Sunday or before so I can get it in for that week. Call me at (812) 427-2299 with news. Thanks.

Denny and Mary Lou Bowman have been visiting and helping me move. I really appreciate them.

Get well prayers for Mary Jewell Simmons in Lamb. She should be back home now.

Glenda Sullivan, Mary Leo Archer and Patty Chase went to Madison for Margie Adams visitation at Morgan Nay Funeral Home. We worked with Margie at the Shoe Factory for over 40 years and were really good friends.

Nadine Swift visited Patty one evening on her way to Ohio.

My half brother, Jeff Jewell, passed away last Friday, July 10th, at his home in Sunman. His services were held on Wednesday, July 15th, in Madison, and he was buried here in Vevay.

On Friday afternoon Glenda Sullivan took Patty Chase to an appointment in Madison. While in Madison they had a late lunch at Bob Evan’s. Glenda called Tracy Seale at the Waters of Clifty Falls to see what she would like to eat. They delivered her wishes. Clayton and Devin Seale, Richard and Janet Sullivan, Jeanette and Squeaky Knaus, Steve and Judy Malone, Jennifer Craig and Christy Knaus have all been so good about taking her different things. Tracy’s birthday was Sunday. Happy birthday, Tracy.

The Sunday lunch bunch enjoyed lunch at Ponderosa in Madison on Sunday to celebrate Gary Wentworth’s birthday. Celebrating with Gary were Karen, David and Connie Wentworth, Judy Lozier, Nancy Johnson, Ken and Sylvia Byars, and Roy and Bonnie Duckworth. Patty and Glenda were unable to join them. Gary was surprised when the serving staff came out to sing “Happy Birthday” to him.
