Florence News 06/11/20

It’s a beautiful day here in Florence this Monday morning as I write the news. I will be moving to Vevay soon, to Switzer Square so we really need some one to take over the Florence area news. Call if you are interested or see Pat at the paper office. I love it and don’t want to give it up but I’m getting too old and I’m sure there is someone that could do it well. I’ve been reading this paper for 60 or more years and some times I couldn’t wait to see if something was in it that we know it happened and waited to know how it came out.

Denny and Mary Lou Bowman, Patty Chase and Glenda Sullivan ate at Hometown Pizza in Warsaw Thursday evening. Tuesday was Denny’s birthday — the pizza and breadsticks were so good. Happy birthday Denny.

Rod and Angie Chase enjoyed a nice meal at “The Rafters” in Florence, Kentucky for their anniversary.

Roy and Bonnie Duckworth attended a graduation open house on Saturday afternoon honoring their granddaughter, Kiersten McClure. Randy and Michelle McClure hosted the open house at their home in Hanover. Many family and friends came from all around. That afternoon, Randy and Michelle got to present Kiersten with her diploma. They had home schooled Kiersten from kindergarten through 12th grade. Kiersten plans to attend Ivy Tech in the fall.

On Sunday part of the church bunch ate at Sunset Grill in Warsaw with social distancing. They were Roy and Bonnie Duckworth, Ken and Sylvia Byars, Gary, Karen and David Wentworth, Patty Chase, Judy Lozier, Nancy Johnson and Glenda Sullivan. It was good to get back together again after three months.

Yard Sale: lots of everything! At Patty’s house on State Road 156 in Florence. Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Come and shop. Lots of bargains!
