My brother-in-law, Jerry Chase had a very serious stroke Saturday and is in an intensive care unit in a Wheeling, West Virginia, hospital. Keep him and his wife Bernice in your prayers.

Janet Brown’s granddaughter Ashley Parker and Kyle Mitchell were married Saturday in a lovely ceremony at the Southland Christian Church in Lexington, Kentucky, with a reception at the Signature Club. Janet Brown, Patty Huff, Jim and Pam McDaniels, Rick and Marlene Peters, Betty Hughes and James and Rita Brogan all attended from Indiana with many more from all around. Congratulations to Kyle and Ashley.

Glenda Sullivan and Patty Chase went to Sunset Gill for lunch last week and joined Kay O’Neal and Margaret Lee Weidmann for a nice visit and a good lunch.

Randy Brown took his mom Margaret Lee Weidmann to Sunset Grill Friday night for dinner.

Margaret Lee’s company was Kay O’Neal, Betty Hargrove, Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown, Floyd and John Wiltz. John has gone back home to Oregon after a nice visit here.

Glenda Sullivan took Patty Chase for an appointment at King’s Daughters’ Hospital last Wednesday. They had a good visit with Margie Ann Combs (Margie Adams’ daughter). Glenda had to wait three hours in the waiting room and visited with Lenny Thorpe as he was there for a friend’s surgery. She also visited with Mary Lou Lucas and Mike and Greg Thornton. We always enjoy the waiting rooms.

Richard and Janet Sullivan of Westport visited Margie Whitham. Jeanette Knaus were also there. Richard left the ladies to visit and he went to Vevay to visit Glenda Sullivan.

Eddie Gregory and grandbaby Jade came over to help me get the trash container out by the road Sunday. Jade was so happy, just full of smiles and bubbles.

Reta Gray said her mom Elizabeth Cole is not too well. Rita, Pat Slack and June Rice have been staying with her at Swiss Villa. They said she is really getting good care there. June has gone back to California but will be back here soon.

A note from Barbara Rice from California. Libby Cole is back at Swiss Villa under Hospice Care, family and private nurses at bedside to provide comfort care. Her condition still remains critical and the family is asking for prayers.

Keep Elizabeth in your prayers. Also, Ginger Furnish, Jonas Keith, Brian Rininger, Bill Wiseman and many more that I don’t know about.

The East Enterprise Volunteer Fire Department members will have their chicken dinner Sunday, August 10th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. They will have a Chinese auction drawing at 12:30 with proceeds going to the fire department. Hope to see you there.

The Vevay High School Alumni meeting and luncheon will be here soon, Saturday, August 23rd, at the Switzerland County High School cafeteria. Get your $10 in to Karen Miller, 8738 East State Road 156, Vevay, IN 47043. Make checks payable to Vevay Alumni and include your year of graduation due by August 11th.

Well, school is back in session so watch out for the kiddies.

Happy 60th anniversary to Pete and Carolyn Lowe.
