This Saturday is the final day of annual Rabies Clinics here in Switzerland County. The clinics will wrap up this Saturday, May 19th.
Rabies and other vaccinations are being offered at various clinics throughout the county. Other pet medications will also be available. Animal diseases and animal bites (domestic and wild) have been on the rise, and owners are urged to take advantage of this final clinic.
By Indiana law, all dogs, cats, and ferrets must be vaccinated yearly for rabies. Owners can be cited for failure to comply with this law.
Clinic dates and times include:
— This Saturday, May 19th, a veterinarian from the Rising Sun Veterinary Clinic will start at the firehouse in East Enterprise from noon to 1 p.m.; then at the Saddle Club in Fairview from 1:30-2 p.m.; and finally at the firehouse in Moorefield from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Residents of the Pleasant area should come to the Moorefield location.

For dogs: rabies only is $10; Rabies, Parvo, Distemper, and Lepto is $35; and Rabies, Parvo, Distemper, Lepto, and kennel cough is $45, which saves $10 overall.
For cats: rabies only is $10; Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, panleukopenia, chlamydiosis, Leukemia, and Rabies is $40, which saves $5.
Flea and tick prevention is also available for purchase at the clinics. Heartworm prevention will not be available.
