Farmers, Artisans Marketplace Grand Opening is June 21st

The Switzerland County Farmers and Artisans Marketplace is excited to announce that the Grand Opening celebration for the 2014 season will take place on Saturday, June 21st.

The Marketplace showcases high-quality fresh produce; baked and prepared goods; and other agricultural items that are raised, grown, and produced by vendors from Switzerland County and adjacent counties.

Also showcased are crafts and artisan products made and produced locally.

The Marketplace is located in the Markland Business Park in Florence. It is open every Saturday, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Just follow the signs.

The Grand Opening will feature live music; artisan demonstrations; food vendors; value-added products; quilting, candle rolling; information on creating herb and succulent gardens; and more.

Plan to bring the family and meet the farmers growing local foods, artisans creating handcrafted products, and see firsthand where you food comes from – get to know your farmer!

Farmers markets provide valuable marketing opportunities and low barriers of entry for farmers and artisans. The Marketplace allows smaller-scale farmers and producers to enjoy a local outlet for their production, and adds another venue for the community to purchase locally grown produce, prepared foods and other agricultural items from local vendors.

Throughout the 2014 season, the Marketplace plans to showcase various musicians, cooking demonstrations, and other events for the whole family to enjoy.

Stop by and support local farmers and artisans. For addition information, call (812) 599-7205 or (812) 594-2050; or via email at
