Rising Sun’s newest citizen is Mark William Tran Boetticher.
Formerly known as Minh Tran, the 21-year-old native of Vietnam was one of many who became naturalized citizens in Indianapolis in March.
The 2011 graduate of Rising Sun High School has been involved in soccer as a student and assistant coach since graduation.
Mark (Minh) has been a resident of Rising Sun for seven years and lives with his stepfather Mike Boetticher and his mother Hannah, who received her citizenship a few years ago.
His step-grandfather Bill Boetticher attended the ceremony with him.
Mark is currently taking accounting course at Ivy Tech and online through Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio.
