Emma South, Dawson Baker are Little Miss, Mister

Monday at the Switzerland County 4-H Fair was highlighted by the Little Miss and Little Mister contest, and this year’s winners are Emma South and Dawson Baker.

The contest featured the children dressing up in costumes that portrayed what they wanted to be when they grow up; and again drew a large crowd. Due to Monday’s heavy rains and the chance of more threatening weather, the contest was moved from the Community Building to the TEC Center.

Emma South is the daughter of Josh and Thera South of Vevay. She’s six years old; and her favorite television show is “My Little Pony”. She enjoys singing, dancing, riding her bike, playing outside, and soccer. Her favorite foods are macaroni and cheese, Starburst candy, and chocolate ice cream; and she has two dogs: Hercules and Lola.

Dawson Baker is the son of Deron and Marlene Baker of Tague Road, and his favorite foods are cheeseburgers and spaghetti. He is six years old, and enjoys riding horses, riding his bike; camping; and playing soccer. He likes the television show ‘Wild Kratts’; and he has a horse named Sugar; a dog named Dixie; and a pig named Ruby.

First runner up for Little Miss was Paige Earls. She is six years old, and the daughter of Clinton and Traci Earls of near Vevay. Her favorite television show is ‘America’s Funniest Home Videos’, and her favorite foods are strawberries and Oreos. She enjoys cheerleading, gymnastics, dance, and swimming.

Kinison Wallace was the first runner up for Little Mister. He is the son of Cale and Amanda Wallace of near Quercus Grove, and his favorite foods are peanut butter and jelly; pizza; and chicken nuggets. He is six years old, and likes the television shows ‘Minecraft Videos’ and “Thunderman’. He likes camping, singing, swimming, baseball, and dancing.

Taylor Elsie Jo Kappes is five years old, and she was named the second runner up in the Little Miss contest. She is the daughter of Ben and Patti Kappes of near Patriot, and her favorite food is spaghetti. Her favorite television show is ‘Paw Patrol’; and she likes gardening and playing soccer. She has a dog named Molly and a cat named Kitty Boy.

The second runner up in the Little Mister contest was Sorren Russell. He is seven years old, and the son of Alan Russell and Rhashell Romans. His favorites foods are popsicles, watermelon, and ice cream; and he enjoys hunting, catching turtles, and fishing. He has a pet named Peanut.

Other county children competing in the Little Miss contest were: Graci Wes Clements, Ashlyn Grace Jesop, and Abigail Shackleford; while Kody Biddinger, Blaine Sterling Fields, Casen Haskell, and Peyton Thayer also participated in the Little Mister contest.
