Emilee Waldron scores highest mark in district

Emilee Waldron, a junior at Switzerland County High School, has been informed that she had the top score among female students in the entire Ninth District of the American Legion on the Americanism and Government Test.

She took the test along with other Switzerland County High School students and students around the state in November of 2006.

The Ninth District of the American Legion is comprised of 14 counties, and Emilee Waldron received a certificate of achievement and a check for $50 for earning the top score in the district.

In her letter, Ninth District test chairman Conrad “Bob” Hoffman wrote, “This award is in recognition of your interest and knowledge in our government at the Federal, State, and County levels.”

Emilee Waldron is the daughter of Dorie and Greg Peelman of East Enterprise and Tony Waldron of Versailles.

She is a member of the National Honor Society; the ‘All A’ Honor Roll; is treasurer of the FFA; and participates in cross country, track, softball, and is a varsity cheerleader.
