The Switzerland County Salvation Army Extension Unit wishes to thank the Switzerland County Commissioners for designating the Jack Sullivan Building of the Switzerland County Senior Citizens Center as a location for the Salvation Army to provide for the emergency needs of our county citizens.

A representative from the Salvation Army Local Board will be at the Senior Citizens Center at 305 Walnut Street in Vevay, beginning November 2nd, from 10 a.m. to noon and each Tuesday and Thursday thereafter to meet with those who have emergency assistance needs.

Emergency funds are available (after all other sources have been exhausted) for the following: gas vouchers for first time employment and medical appointments, food, energy needs, rent assistance, prescription drugs, and burial expenses. Vouchers are written to provide for these services and cash is not given to individuals. Individuals may arrange an appointment at other times by calling the following: Chester Meisberger, 812-427-2315, Ron Snyder, 812-427-2167, or Colleen Lay, 812-926-4200 days, 812-534-9973 evenings.
