Students at Rising Sun Ohio County Community schools had an opportunity to view a once in a lifetime solar eclipse on Monday, Aug. 21st. Kindergarten through second grade were the first to take a glimpse using special NASA approved glasses. The third through fifth graders came out followed by the middle school students. All followed instructions not to look up at the sun until after they had the glasses on secure. Some tried to take pictures with their cell phones. The high school students filled the infield of the track around 2:15 p.m. Students, teachers and aides all took part in the event that hadn’t happened in 99 years.
