Easter observances set by area churches

  Here’s a look at some of the special services that area churches are holding in celebration of Easter:

   — Caledonia Presbyterian Church has announced its Holy Week Services.

  This Sunday, March 25th, the church will hold Palm Sunday Services beginning at 10:30 a.m. On Thursday, March 29th, a Maundy Thursday service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

  The church will hold an Easter Vigil on Saturday, March 31st, at 7:30 p.m.; and on Easter morning, the church will hold services at 9 a.m.

  — Riverview Southern Baptist Church would like to invite the community to attend an upcoming special event.

  The church will present a Living Portrayal of the Lord’s Supper on Thursday, March 29th. The event will begin at 7 p.m.; and everyone is invited to attend. Refreshments will follow.

  Riverview Southern Baptist Church is located at 1341 Spring Branch Road, just west of Vevay off of State Road 56.

  — There will be Good Friday services at Bennington United Methodist Church on Friday, March 30th. The service will begin at 6 p.m.

  Reverend Jim Wingate will be bringing the message; and the public is invited to attend.

  The church is located on Bennington Pike in the center of the community.

— Mount Sterling Baptist Church has announced its Easter services.

  The church will hold a Candlelight Communion Service with special music on Good Friday, March 30th, beginning at 7 p.m.

  On Easter Sunday, the church will hold its ‘Sonrise’ service at 7 a.m., with the morning service beginning at 10:30 a.m.

— Easter Mass at the Most Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church will be at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 1st.

  Father Joseph Moriarty, Rector at Bishop Simon Brute College Seminary in Indianapolis will preside.

  Good Friday will be observed at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 30th. There will be no Saturday mass on March 31st in Vevay.

  The Most Sorrowful Mother of God Church is located on Ferry Street across from the Jeff-Craig Firehouse.

  — Center Square Baptist Church will hold its Children’s Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31st. It will begin at 10 a.m. and there will be donuts, juice, and milk served; and there will also be prizes.

  The church is located at 10428 North State Road 56 in Center Square. Everyone is invited.

  — The Vevay Church of Christ, located on the corner of Market and Liberty streets in Vevay, has announced its Easter Services.

  The church will hold its Sunrise Service on Easter morning beginning at 7:30 a.m., and a breakfast will follow the service. Everyone is welcome to attend.

  — Olive Branch Baptist Church has announced its upcoming Easter Services.

  The church will hold a Sunrise Service on Easter morning, April 1st, beginning at 7:30 a.m. That will be followed by a breakfast prepared by the church youth group.

  The Easter morning worship service will begin at 10 a.m.

  All of the services will be held in the church’s new Family Life Center, which is located just behind the current sanctuary. Everyone is invited to attend.

  Olive Branch Baptist Church is located on Bear Branch Road, approximately two miles north of the Fairview Store just off of State Road 250. For more information, call (812) 584-1920.

  — Ruter Chapel United Methodist Church in Vevay will hold its Sunrise Service on Easter morning at 7:30 a.m. in Jennings Park on the west end of Market Street. There will be songs and praise, and Shawn Rousch will offer scripture. In the event of rain, the service will be held at Ruter Chapel, which is located at 309 West Main Street.

  Following the Sunrise Service, the men of the church will prepare breakfast at the church; and the traditional Easter Worship Service will be held beginning at 10:30 a.m., and will feature an open communion service. Everyone is invited to attend.
