Easter events are Saturday

The town of Vevay and all of Switzerland County will celebrate the Easter season this Saturday with the annual “Easter Egg-stravaganza” that is held around the courthouse and at different venues in town.

Beginning at 10:30 a.m., the Frisch Marionettes of Cincinnati will present “The Jungle Book” at the Historic Hoosier Theater. Tickets are $5 each for children and adults; and a second performance of the show will be held at 1 p.m.

At 11 a.m. “Lunch with the Easter Bunny” will begin at the Vevay United Methodist Church. Children and adults are invited to stop by for some lunch, and there will also be an opportunity to have a child’s photo taken with the Easter Bunny.

Also at 11 a.m., the Tri Kappa Sorority will be holding its cake walk in the courthouse gazebo, and the event is a great chance to pick up a dessert for Sunday’s Easter dinner.

Noon will find the annual children’s Easter Egg hunt going on around the Switzerland County Courthouse. The hunt is open to children ages 1-10, and will begin at noon sharp, so don’t be late.

There will be specific areas for each age group.

Tickets for the Frisch Marionettes performances may be obtained in advance at the Switzerland County Visitors Center on Main Street; and those needing more information may also contact the Visitors Center at 427-3237.
