On Wednesday, February 22nd deputies with the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office observed a male driver passed out behind the wheel of a 1997 Chevy truck, which was parked near the Triple Whipple Bridge.
The driver, who was identified as Benjamin “Adam” Sturgill, was observed to have a controlled substance in plain view. Deputies knew these items to be commonly abused by persons who are addicted to opiates. Deputies conducted a search of Sturgill for safety. The search yielded approximately two grams of Methamphetamine and Suboxone. Sturgill did not have an active prescription for the Suboxone.
Sturgill was placed under arrest for: Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 6 Felony, Possession of a Schedule 3 Controlled Substance, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Maintaining a Common Nuisance ( a Level 6 Felony).
