Destine Peelman is Pre-Teen Princess

Many times everyone gets to witness a little bit of history, and last Thursday night at the opening of the 44th Swiss Wine Festival, those in attendance got to witness the crowing of the first ever Edelweiss Pre-Teen Princess.

Destine Lynn Peelman holds the distinction of being the first princess, and she was honored from a field of seven contestants.

Destine is an eighth grader at Switzerland County Middle School; and was sponsored by Roxano’s Restaurant. She is the daughter of Darrell and Beverly Peelman.

Her career plans are to become a beautician.

The first runner up in the pageant was Josie Lynn Meyer. She was sponsored in the pageant by The Ridge Winery; and is the daughter of Mike and Missy Meyer. She is in the eighth grade at Switzerland County Middle School.

Her career ambition is to become a video game designer.

The second runner up was Josie Elizabeth Stogsdill. She is the daughter of Mary and Eric Stogsdill and is in the eighth grade at Switzerland County Middle School. She was sponsored in the pageant by RS Home Sales.

Her career ambition is to be a nurse.

Bailey Nicole Crawford was honored as the third runner up in the pageant. She is in the eighth grade at Switzerland County Middle School, and was sponsored in the pageant by Shop Quik. She is the daughter of Shonda Slaughter.

Her career ambition is to be an author or an oncologist.

The fourth runner up was Willow Faith Lieland. She is the daughter of Angel and Matthew Lieland; and is a seventh grader at Switzerland County Middle School. She was sponsored in the pageant by Shell’s Ice Cream and Grill.

Her career plans are to be a nurse or special education teacher.

Chosen by her fellow contestants as Miss Congeniality was Aleiah Janelle Thomas. She is the daughter of Harold and Tina Thomas, and is in the eighth grade at Switzerland County Middle School. She was sponsored in the pageant by MainSource Bank, Tyler Allen.

Her career ambition is to become a cosmetologist.

Also competing in the pageant was Allison Detmer. She was sponsored by Palomino Solutions; and is the daughter of Allen and Michelle Detmer. She is in the eighth grade at Switzerland County Middle School.

Her career ambition is to be an actress.
