The deadline to file for one of the four seats on the Switzerland County School Board that are up for election in November is noon tomorrow (Friday, August 26th).
As of Wednesday morning, there has been one new filing, which currently puts one candidate in each of the four races. Those who want to file need to pick up an application in the Switzerland County Clerk’s office.
As of Wednesday morning, the clerk’s office reports one new filing:
-Carla Burt has filed for the school board seat representing the Town of Vevay.
She joins those who have previously filed:
– Current school board member Katie Collier, who represents Pleasant Township, has filed for reelection.
– Current school board member Josh Deck, who represents York Township; has filed for reelection.
– Amy Jessup Combs, who is seeking the school board seat in Cotton Township, also filed last week.
The school board election will be part of the general election on Tuesday, November 8th; with the winning candidates beginning four year terms on January 1st of 2017.
