Cross country teams defeat Gallatin County

The boys and girls cross country teams from Switzerland County High School tuned up for this week’s ORVC conference meet last Wednesday with a dual meet against Gallatin County (Kentucky).

The boys won their meet by a score of 16-43.

Clay Meyer was the overall winner, posting a time of 17:31; while Corey McFarland finished second in a time of 18:01; and Tray Meyer was third in a time of 18:45.

Tanner Ross finished fourth in a time of 19:45; Zach O’Neal was sixth in a time of 20:15; Damon Robbins was ninth in a time of 22:25; and Bradlee Burk was 10th overall in a time of 23:00 as he continues to recover from a broken collarbone.

In the girls race, the Lady Pacers recorded a perfect team score of 15, as Gallatin County did not have enough runners to field a complete squad.

Amber Meli was first overall in a time of 21:36; and Maggie Armstrong finished fourth in a time of 24:21. Beth Abbott was fifth in a time of 24:51; Shana Todd was sixth in a time of 26:14; and Catie Johnson was eighth in a time of 28:46.

Switzerland County was without its second runner, Andrea Brogan, who was ill.
