The Ohio River Valley Conference has released its “Players of the Week” and “Top Performers” for the week of December 17th through January 5th, and Switzerland County has top honorees in both girls and boys basketball.
Lady Pacer Courtney Cole has been honored as the conference’s “Player of the Week”, sharing the honor with Sarah Roth of Southwestern.
She was honored for her 79 points and 32 rebounds over a five game span.
Other Lady Pacers honored as “Top Performers” included Amber Smith.
Amber Smith was honored for her 16 points, including four three-pointers, versus South Dearborn.
Other players honored as “Top Performers” included: Becca Wagner, Kara Harlremert, and Kaylin Ploeger of Jac-Cen-Del; Devin Brierly of Southwestern; and Kady Alloway and Kelly Stutler of Milan.

In boys basketball, Pacer Kyle Green was honored as the “Player of the Week”.
He was honored for his 44 points, 16 rebounds, and eight assists during the Rivertown Classic Tournament.
He shared the honor with Brandon Scroggins of Madison Shawe.
Others honored as “Top Performers” included: Brandon Gehl, and Matt Gehl of Jac-Cen-Del; Nick Hall and Deuce Wall of Madison Shawe; B.J. Sieverding and Trent Tucker of South Ripley; Tanner Mahoney, Cody Stephens and Zack Scrogham of Southwestern; and Myles Hornsby, Zeph Vaughn, and Mike Lovern of Rising Sun.

– In girls basketball:
Courtney Cole is second in the conference in scoring with an average of 16.9 points per game. She’s also fifth in rebounding with an average of 6.8 per game; and is eighth in field goal percentage at .479.
April Thieman is second in the conference in rebounding with an average of 7.7 per game; and Morgan Ross is third in the ORVC in freethrow percentage at .750; and is seventh in field goal percentage at .486.
Amber Smith is seventh in the conference in the number of three-pointers made with 16; Megan McCarty is 10th in freethrow percentage at .652; and Tanya Sefton is 10th in the number of assists made with 32.
– In boys basketball:
Kyle Green leads the ORVC in scoring with an average of 16.5 points per game; is third in the conference in the number of three-pointers made with 19; and is tied for fifth in the conference in freethrow percentage at .760; and is sixth in the number of assists made with 27.
Brennan Bragg is second the conference in field goal percentage at .580; is sixth in rebounding with a per game average of 6.3; and is eighth in freethrow percentage at .730.
Mark Sharp leads the conference in assists with 57; Clay Meyer is eighth in rebounding with an average of 5.4 per game; and Daniel Welch is 10th in freethrow percentage at .670.
Devon Armstrong is fourth in field goal percentage at .550; is tied for fifth in freethrow percentage at .760; and is tied for 10th in the number of three-pointers made with eight.
