Switzerland County Lady Pacer Courtney Cole continues to accumulate honors now that the girls basketball season is over – this time being named to the Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association District All Star Team.
The senior was selected as one of Indiana’s “Top 100” seniors last week; and this week she has been informed that she was named as a member of the District 4 girls All Star team.
The District 4 team includes: Brittany Schoen of South Central; Shaylee Brown of Salem; Katie Jackson of Charlestown; Jessica Whittaker of Floyd Central; Kassie Kovert of Brownstown; Jessica Mosier of North Harrison; Beth Gomb of Lanesville; Abigail Hoskings of Floyd Central; and Maria Berry of Madison Shawe.
The District 3 team includes Kiersten Young and Kaylin Ploeger of Jac-Cen-Del; along with players from Columbus East, Rushville, South Decatur, and Brown County.
The two 10-member All Star teams will now come together, with coaches selecting a 12-member squad to play in an All Star game – and Courtney Cole is a member of that 12-member squad.
“We’re just very proud of Courtney and her accomplishments,” Switzerland County coach Wayne Ellegood said. “We know that she will represent her team and her school and her community very well in the all star game, and she’s worked very hard to achieve these honors.”
Courtney Cole is the daughter of Duane and Tammy Cole of near Florence.
