Courtney Cole, April Thieman are All Conference


The Ohio River Valley Conference has announced its All Conference team for girls basketball for the 2007-2008 season – and Lady Pacers Courtney Cole and April Thieman are a part of the 12-member squad.

Both are seniors, and ranked among the league leaders in several offensive categories throughout the year.

Courtney Cole is the daughter of Duane and Tammy Cole of near Florence.

April Thieman is the daughter of Mike and Melisa Thieman of near Pleasant.

Joining the two Lady Pacers on the All Conference team were Devin Brierly, Sarah Roth, and Kendall Withered of Southwestern; Maria Berry, Ebony Inskeep, and Rachel Muessel of Madison Shawe; Kaylin Ploeger and Kiersten Young of Jac-Cen-Del; Jaclyn Armbruster of Rising Sun; and Kady Alloway of Milan.

Kellie Collier of South Ripley was honored with the ORVC Mental Attitude Award.

The Southwestern Lady Rebels were again crowned as the conference champions for varsity girls basketball; and head coach Donna Cheatham was honored as the Coach of the Year.

The Switzerland County Lady Pacers won the conference championship in junior varsity basketball. They were coached by Denny Bowling.

The all conference teams are voted on by the coaches of the ORVC, and coaches are not allowed to vote for their own players.
