County rabies clinics conclude this Saturday

The Switzerland County Health Department has announced that there’s still one more Saturday for residents to take advantage of the local Rabies Clinics.

Rabies and other vaccinations are being offered at various clinics throughout the county. Other pet medications will also be available. Animal diseases and animal bites (domestic and wild) have been on the rise, and owners are urged to take advantage of these clinics.

By Indiana law, all dogs, cats, and ferrets must be vaccinated yearly for rabies. Owners can be cited for failure to comply with this law.

The last clinic date and times for this year include:

– This Saturday, May 20th, a veterinarian from the Rising Sun Veterinary Clinic will start at the firehouse in East Enterprise from noon to 1 p.m.; then at the Saddle Club in Fairview from 1:30-2 p.m.; then at the Old Mill site in Pleasant from 2:30-3 p.m.; and finally at the firehouse in Moorefield from 3:15-4:15 p.m.

Rabies only vaccinations are $10. For pricing for other vaccinations, contact Dr. Moore or the Rising Sun Veterinary Clinic.
