Switzerland County Sheriff Roy Leap, reports that there was a one vehicle accident on State Road 156 between Vevay and Markland on Saturday March 9th.
The accident occurred at approximately 4:35 p.m., when the Switzerland County Sheriff’s Office 911 call center received a report of this single vehicle accident located on State Road 156 approximately three miles east of Vevay.
Deputies responded to a report of a single vehicle accident with one occupant. Reports told of a male driver who was unresponsive inside the vehicle.
The person was later identified as William Beach, age 62, of Vevay. He was pronounced deceased at the accident scene at 4:44 p.m. Time of death was pronounced by Switzerland County Coroner Lewis Fritter.
On Monday March 11th, Switzerland County Coroner, Lewis Fritter stated that Dr. Steve Ellison had performed an autopsy at Dearborn County Hospital and that preliminary autopsy report indicated William Beach died of a heart attack prior to the accident.
Switzerland County Sheriff Roy Leap reports that this incident is not being investigated as a single vehicle fatality accident due to Mr. Beach being decreased prior to the accident.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Switzerland County Sheriff’s Office assisted by Switzerland County Coroner’s Office.
