County artists display work in Rising Sun

This weekend, September 17th-18th, 12 artists from the Vevay area will be displaying their art in Rising Sun as part of a special artist exchange.

The county works will be on display at the Pendleton Art Gallery as a part of that community’s Festival of Fine Arts and Crafts.

County artists who will have their work on display include: Martha Bladen, Jerry Wallin, Sandy Wallin, Ann Mulligan, Jay Davidson, Pam Acton, Bud Acton, Jay Benzing, Sarah Headen, Ann Farnsley, Tony Catanzaro, and Mickie Rader.

The works will remain in display at the Pendleton Art Gallery until the end of the month.

Beginning on Friday, October 7th, Rising Sun and Ohio County artists will have their work on display here.

Those exhibits will be part of the “First Friday” celebration, and will be unveiled on Friday, October 7th. The exhibition will be held at the Java Bean Cafe and Confectionery on Main Street.

More than 40 artists from around the region and the nation will be in Rising Sun for the third annual Rising Sun Festival of Fine Arts and Crafts.

The festival includes: fine art, crafts, jewelry, pottery, photography, fiber arts, glass and much more.

The festival event will be held on Saturday, September 17th and Sunday, September 18th between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The festival will be held in Rising Sun’s historic Main Street District. There is no admission fee.
