Fifteen members of the Whitham family met for an after-Thanksgiving lunch at the Crossroads Restaurant in Versailles on Friday. Those in attendance were: June Kendall from Memphis Tennessee; Floyd Ray, Sundra and Irma Whitham from Vevay; Edwin Whitham from Missouri; Bonnie Murray from Rising Sun; Robb, Maria and Trey Steele from Cummings, Georgia; Norris and Joann Krall from Osgood; Eslie and Donnie Alford from Fairview; and Nadine Hankinson and Jean Burgess from Quercus Grove. Time was spent reviewing memories of the past and refreshing our minds of the present happenings of our families.

Terry Cook, son of Harold and Lois Kelly Cook, passed away at his home in Hawaii on Thanksgiving Day. Terry had been with his mother in Sellersburg and Patriot for the funeral of his dad, Harold Cook, and had flown back to Hawaii on Wednesday. Terry was born near Florence and his parents moved to Sellersburg when he was young. He grew up there and has been living in Hawaii for the past 30 plus years. Sympathy to the family. The River Red Hat Ladies from the Carrollton area had their last meeting at a lovely home in Indian Hills near Carrollton. There was a big attendance for the pitch-in lunch and it was a good time.

Glenda Sullivan spent a few days at U of L hospital in Louisville and at Swiss Villa after her bad fall. She will be having therapy at Swiss Villa. Her company during that time was: Richard and Janet Sullivan and Dana; Jeanette Knaus; Hazel Wilkerson; Nell Cayton; Rita Sullivan; Patty Chase; Bonnie and Roy Duckworth; Chris and Lisa Clerkin; Debbie Aldred; Debbie Simpson; Sharon Deck; Rahe Jean Griffin; Gary Shepherd; Mary Lou Furnish; Linda Hehe; Cheryle Saunders; Steve Crabtree; Gene Crabtree; Rick Weales; Levada Bladen; Cindy Geis; Donna and Nathan Hughes; Lana and Caden Kelly; Jean Sandidge; Evelyn Davidson; Pete and Carolyn Lowe; Diane Simpson; Denny and Mary Lou Bowman; Pat Deaton; Ken and Sylvia Byars; Misty Hunt; Jon Haag; Steve Westrick; Judy Lozier; Casey, Sheila and Tiffany Rininger; Charles and Alberta Pickett and probably some I missed. Her home address is 201 East Jackson Street, Vevay. Get well wishes for her long recovery from a broken knee cap and other cuts and bruises.

Casey, Sheila and Tiffany Rininger; Charles and Alberta Pickett; Judy Lozier; and Patty Chase had lunch at Cracker Barrel at La Grange, Kentucky, on their way back from visiting Glenda at the hospital. Judy Lozier, Alberta Pickett and Patty Chase had lunch at King Fish two days later after a visit with Glenda.

Bud and Betty Hargrove had a big Thanksgiving for their family.

About 65 friends and family attended the surprise birthday party for Geneva Robinson Saturday at the Switzerland Baptist Church meeting room. The food and fellowship was wonderful. Happy 90th, Geneva.

Ken and Sylvia Byars spent Thanksgiving with Ken’s sister Karen at the Montgomery Care Center in Cincinnati Wednesday. On Thursday they had dinner at Swiss Villa with Sylvia’s dad, Harold Sims.

Charles and Alberta Pickett had Thanksgiving dinner with the Brian Rininger family and friends.

The last two items were sent into the paper as is, but were not copied right. I just want to get the names right. Thank you.
