Switzerland County residents will have the chance to do some Spring Cleaning this weekend, as the annual Countywide Cleanup both in the Town of Vevay and around the county will be held.
Vevay residents will be able to take items to the lot on the east side of town next to the former 7-Up Building across from the cemetery. Everyone will have to show proof of residency in town to be able to drop off items.
Also: there will not be any curbside collection this year, so anyone wanting to discard of items must bring those items to the drop off site.
The dumpster owner will not accept: tires, liquids, computers, televisions, hazardous materials; any item that contains freon; paint or paint cans.
Hours in Vevay are:
– Tomorrow (Friday, April 21st): 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
– Saturday, April 22nd: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
– Sunday, April 23rd: noon until 6 p.m.
Anyone having any questions can call Vevay Town Hall at (812) 427-3131; or (812) 427-4425.

For county residents, drop offs can be made at the Recycling Center at the Switzerland County Highway Garage on McCreary’s Ridge Road in East Enterprise.
The county drop off will be the same dates, tomorrow (Friday) through Sunday, and will be available from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. each of the three days.
