Clint Swanson MVP, Pacers 2nd in meet

Switzerland County sophomore Clint Swanson earned Most Valuable Participant honors at last Thursday’s Vevay Newspapers Invitational Track Meet, and his efforts helped propel the Pacer boys varsity track team to a second place overall finish.

Rising Sun won the meet with a score of 131, followed by the Pacers with 120 and Lawrenceburg with 103. Milan had 52; Jac-Cen-Del finished with 25; Madison Shawe had 22; and Southwestern finished with 7.

Clint Swanson earned two individuals titles, winning the 100-meter dash in a time of :11.39; and the 200-meter dash in a personal best time of :23.31. He finished second overall in the high jump; and he also was a part of the second place 400-meter relay team along with Tyler Maxey, Jesse Bailey, and Zack Rodgers.

Alex Curran also earned first place honors, winning the high jump with a height of 5’8″.

Second places were earned by Quinn Meyer in the long jump; Bradley Cox in the shot put; Alex Galbreath in the discus; and the 3,200-meter relay team of T.J. White, Logan Pike, Alex Galbreath, and Mikhail Cole.

Finishing third was Anthony Dasis in the 110-meter high hurdles and the 300-meter intermediate hurdles.

Fourth place points were earned by Braden Burk in the 800-meter run; Quinn Meyer in the 1,600-meter run; Dakota Taylor in the 110-meter high hurdles; T.J. White in the 3,200-meter run; Alex Curran in the long jump; and the 1,600-meter relay team of Logan Pike, Tyler Maxey, Anthony Dasis, and Zach O’Neal.

Finishing fifth was Alex Galbreath in the 800-meter run and Braden Burk in the 1,600-meter run; while sixth places were earned by Zach O’Neal in the 400-meter dash; Dakota Taylor in the 3,200-meter run and the 300-meter intermediate hurdles; and Zack Rodgers in the discus.
