Rising Sun city Council received a Request For Proposal for possible development of restaurant and dock area at its Thursday, Aug. 2nd meeting.
CiNK Properties LLC proposed The Landing of Rising Sun which would supply a 2000 to 2500 square feet restaurant and $300-$450 square foot docking area.
The Southern Ohio/Northern Kentucky company founders Joe Abdon and Arthur Pellar would include the Attaboy Paddle Wheel along with a tiki bar. It was reported the operation could open on Memorial Day 2019 depending on permits.
The proposal suggested a $100 a month lease.
No action was taken but council approved mayor Brent Bascom and city planner Mike Northcutt to meet with the developer. CiNK was the lone proposal received by the city for future development.
In final actions, the amended ordinance requires the operator to be at least 16 years and 180 days old plus have one of the following valid state issued forms of identification: driver’s license, learner’s permit or identification card issued.
Also, council approved the salary ordinance which gave most employees a two percent pay increase.
Rumpke submitted the low bid for trash pick up and recycling. Council accepted the bids which included recycling costs of $3.95 for the first year followed by $4.05 and $4.15 in subsequent years. Trash pick up will be $10 followed by increases to $10.25 and $10.51 as part of the three year contract.
