Area entries for Vevay’s inaugural Christmas parade are being sought.
The event will be held Saturday, December 1st, and will begin at 3 p.m. The parade line-up is at 2 p.m. at the Switzerland County Fairgrounds; and everyone is encouraged to participate with floats, decorated vehicles, horses, walking entries, marching bands, and others.
All entries must be at least 50-percent decorated for Christmas, family-oriented and in good taste. Santa Claus will be the featured guest, so participants should refrain from using a live character.
Parade volunteers are also needed for various facets of the event, including walking characters and more.
The parade route will be Vineyard Street to Main Street; left on Main Street to Ferry Street; and right on Ferry Street to the Paul Ogle Riverfront Park.
No entry fee is required, but entries must be pre-registered. Entry forms with a complete set of rules are available at the Switzerland County Visitors Center; and Meredith Bookkeeping and Tax Service, located at 311 East Main Street. Participants may call Meredith’s at 427-9577 to have entry forms mailed, faxed, or e-mailed direct. Submission of a completed entry form does not guarantee acceptance of unit(s) into the parade.
For more information on the parade or to volunteer, contact Kathy Meredith at 427-9577 or e-mail email@example.com.
