The Historic Hoosier Theater will present the Cincinnati Kinderballet in its traditional Christmas season performance, “The Nutcracker Ballet”, on Saturday, December 18th.

The performance will begin at 11:10 a.m.

A special feature of this production will be pre-show workshops designed to allow children ages 4-10 the chance to join the dancers on stage during the performance.

The Nutcracker Suite brings Tchailkovsky’s music together with choreography in the spirit of Petipa with the same magical story. It’s all condensed together as an ideal introduction to the ballet classic – a Christmas tradition.

The ballet will be performed by the children and young adults of the Kinderballet in association with Cincinnati’s longest running ballet tradition, the Anneliese von Oettingen School of Ballet.

As a Christmas gift to the children of Switzerland County, the Hoosier Theater will be giving away 100 tickets to the first 100 children and adults who reside in Switzerland County.

Tickets will be available at the Hoosier Theater box office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The box office will be open beginning this Monday, November 29th, until Friday, December 17th.

For those living outside of Switzerland County, there will only be 50 tickets available at a cost of $5 each. Tickets for purchase will be available at the box office and also at the Visitors Center.

For more information, call 427-3237.

Tickets are $5 each and may be purchased at the Switzerland County Visitors Center, or on the day of the performance at the theater’s box office.
