Dozens of Christmas and holiday gift vendors will be set up in two locations on Friday, December 1st, from 6-9 p.m. (First Friday) for the Swiss tradition of ‘Christkindlmarkt’ in Vevay.
In addition to regular Vevay shops, two buildings of vendors will be selling gifts and holiday necessities at the Swiss Inn (Main and Ferry) and at the old Mercantile Building (214 Ferry Street). Have some festive fun while doing your holiday shopping and supporting your local community entrepreneurs. Shopping will start after the Lighting of Ogle Park at 5 p.m. The high school choir and band will be entertaining with carols and Christmas music; while little “Christkindli” angels pass out candies and treats.
As part of ‘Christkindlmarkt’, Switzerland County High School students will be selling fresh Christmas trees and wreaths at Opera House Park (Ferry and Pike Street) from 6-9 p.m. Proceeds will benefit TARS – ‘Teenage Republicans’ – extra-curricular group.
