It was a busy week against some high-powered opponents for the Switzerland County Lady Pacer varsity soccer team last week.
- Switzerland County earned a dominate victory over Southwestern last Wednesday, August 27th.
Lady Pacers had a solid all around game, excelling both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
The defense had a tremendous game, led by goalie Eve Galbreath and defenders Samantha Christerson, Nicole Leap, Paige Sawyer, and Bre Braun; who provided another shutout.
Switzerland County’s offensive, in the meanwhile, was having its way with the Lady Rebels.
Goals scored included: three by Megan Dasis; three by Jade Mullins; two by Taylar Jordan; and Rachel Ard and Eve Galbreath each contributed one.
The final score saw Switzerland County on top by a 10-0 count.
– The Switzerland County Lady Pacers soccer team held its second home match last Thursday night against the Madison Cubs.
The game was a scoreless game until approximately 10 minutes into the contest, when junior Jade Mullins found the back of the net and put the Pacers up by one.
The Lady Pacers then added to their lead when senior Megan Dasis scored a goal and another goal was added by Jade Mullins. The fourth and final goal for the Lady Pacers was credited to sophomore McKayli Scudder.
Switzerland County’s defense delivered its second straight shut out. The defense had outstanding play from senior Paige Sawyer; senior Nicole Leap; junior Samantha Christerson; and junior Bre Braun.
Senior goalie Eve Galbreath had five saves to keep Madison scoreless for the night. The final score saw Switzerland County earn the win by a final score of 4-0.
A junior varsity game followed the varsity game that night; and it was a contest that saw both teams share possession of the ball equally.
Both teams were without a goal until the last minute of the game, when Madison was able to find the back of the net, securing a 1-0 win.
The Lady Pacers had four shots on goal while Madison Cubs had six.
– Switzerland County then traveled to Rising Sun last Friday evening.
After two other games during the week, Friday’s contest was driven by sheer determination on both sides of the ball.
The Lady Pacers midfield consisting of: Rachel Ard, Emma Giglio, Taylar Jordan, Kacie Kimmel, and McKayli Scudder played a solid game.
The final score was tied, 0-0.
