Business grants will be discussed Tuesday

Area realtors, developers, property owners and interested parties are invited to participate in a meeting to learn more about available grant opportunities in Vevay.

The event will take place this Tuesday, January 20th at 5 p.m. in the Firewood Corporation office located at 105 West Pike Street.

Switzerland County Tourism has secured grants from the Office of Community and Rural Affairs and the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authorities to make available to businesses owners to help promote building partnerships to create a consistent revitalization program.

The programs are to help enhance the visual equality of the area while not only restoring and preserving architectural landmarks; but to help create and maintain economic growth and business recruitment.

In addition there are smaller grants available through Vevay Main Street as well as Switzerland County Signage Grants.

A “Vevay RECAP Large Project Facade” grant as well as a “Vevay RECAP Large Project Pre-Development” grant is available for the development of large projects that are located within borders that extend slightly past the immediate downtown Vevay Main Street route.

Grant awards between $10,000-$30,000 are available on either a one-to-one match for facades; or a nine-to-one match for pre-developments projects.

Persons interested in learning about these grant opportunities, and to obtain grant forms, maps and applications are asked to RSVP at 427-3237 by 5 p.m. on Monday, January 19th. More information can be received through the same number.
