The Switzerland County Lady Pacer middle school track team captured the championship of the Switzerland County Invitational last Friday night.
Switzerland County finished with a team total of 76 points; followed by Southwestern with 52; Rising Sun with 38; and Jac-Cen-Del with 18.
Eighth grader Bre Ricketts led the Lady Pacer charge, as she earned four first place ribbons – setting school records in two of the four wins – to earn the honor of being named the Most Valuable Participant in the meet.
Bre Ricketts won the long jump with a school record distance of 15’0″; the 100-meter hurdles with a school record time of :16.71; the high jump with a height of 4’8″; and was a part of the winning 400-meter relay team along with Cayli Chase, Lauren Haskell, and Kayla Hall with a time of :57.52.
Switzerland County also got a first place effort from Megan Dasis, who won the 100-meter dash in a time of :13.69.
Susie Reyes placed second in the discus and shot put; Eve Galbreath was second in the 100-meter hurdles; Robin Furnish was second in the 1,600-meter run; and Cayli Chase was second in the 400-meter dash.
Finishing third was Eve Galbreath in the shot put; Kylie Smith in the 400-meter dash; and Robin Furnish in the 800-meter run.
Fourth place points were earned by Erika Coy on the discus; Eve Galbreath in the long jump; Bri Meli in the high jump; Lauren Haskell in the 100-meter dash; Cameron Ray in the 1,600-meter run; and Megan Dasis in the 200-meter dash. Bri Meli was fifth in the 800-meter run.

Last Wednesday night, the Lady Pacers tied Madison in a dual meet by a score of 57-57.
Switzerland County was led by Bre Ricketts, who earned three first places, winning the long jump with a distance of 14’0″; the high jump with a height of 4’6″; and the 100-meter hurdles with a time of :17.06.
Susie Reyes was first in the discus with a distance of 72’6″; Megan Dasis in the 100-meter dash in a time of :13.58, and the 200-meter dash in a time of :29.18; Bri Meli in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:57; and the 800-meter relay team of Lauren Haskell, Cayli Chase, Amanda Chatham, and Kayla Hall with a time of 2:06.
Second places were earned by Susie Reyes in the shot put; Eve Galbreath in the 100-meter hurdles; Robin Furnish in the 1,600-meter run and the 800-meter run; Emily Evans in the 400-meter dash; the 400-meter relay team of Cayli Chase, Lauren Haskell, Kayla Hall, and Bre Ricketts; and the 1,600-meter relay team of Lauren Haskell, Robin Furnish, Megan Dasis, and Eve Galbreath.
Earning third places were Eve Galbreath in the shot put; Megan Dasis in the 100-meter hurdles; Lauren Haskell in the 100-meter dash; and Cameron Ray in the 200-meter dash.

On Monday, the Lady Pacers continued their excellent season by winning a three-way meet over Southwestern and Madison Shawe. The Lady Pacers finished with 59 points; while Southwestern had 49 points and Madison Shawe had 17.
Bre Ricketts had another outstanding meet, winning the long jump with a distance of 14’5″, the high jump with a height of 4’9″, and the 100-meter hurdles in a time of :17.36.
Susie Reyes was first in the discus with a distance of 68’4″; and Megan Dasis won the 100-meter dash in a time of :14.44. The 1,600-meter relay team of Eve Galbreath, Amanda Chatham, Kayla Hall, and Lauren Haskell also claimed first place in a time of 4:55.
Second places were earned by Eve Galbreath in the shot put and the 100-meter hurdles; Robin Furnish in the 1,600-meter run; Cayli Chase in the 400-meter dash; and Megan Dasis in the 200-meter dash.
