The Switzerland County boys varsity track team finished sixth overall in last Thursday night’s ORVC conference meet held at Madison – but Pacers Brandon Otter and Nathan Hickman had outstanding individual performances.
Brandon Otter won the conference in the high jump with a height of 6’0″; and he also finished second in the long jump with a personal best distance of 19’7″. He was also a part of the Switzerland County 400-meter relay team – along with Nathan Hickman, Kyle Green, and Luke May – that finished fourth overall.
Nathan Hickman earned the conference championship in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of :42.0 – which was a personal best for him. He also finished fifth in the 110-meter high hurdles; and was part of the 400-meter relay team.
Other Pacers scoring points included: Matt Johnson was fifth in the 400-meter dash in a personal best time of :56.0; and Kyle Green was fifth in the shot put along with his participation in the 400-meter relay.
The 1,600-meter relay team of Michael Haas, Ian Sisson, Chad Robinson, and Matt Johnson finished sixth; and the 3,200-meter relay team of Jim Abbott, Josh Hon, Matt Johnson, and Chad Robinson finished fifth.
The boys team will compete in the sectional at East Central tonight (Thursday).
