Switzerland County’s Brandon Otter cemented himself as one of the premier high jumpers in the state during last Thursday night’s Connersville Regional when he advanced to the State Track Meet with a third place finish.
The senior cleared a height of 6’6″ – the state standard and also the height that he cleared to win the East Central Sectional the week before. He won the ORVC Conference Meet by clearing a personal-best height of 6’7″.
He will now compete with the rest of the state’s best high jumpers this Saturday in Bloomington. He is expected to begin jumping in his flight at around 3:30 p.m.
Also competing at the Connersville Regional was senior hurdler Nathan Hickman, who finished 10th overall in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of :16.07; and he was also 11th in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles with a time of :42.06.
