Boys track team readies for conference meet

The Switzerland County boys track team was a little short-handed when it traveled to Rising Sun last Thursday for the Rising Sun Invitational, but the Pacers put forth a strong effort with a limited cast.

South Dearborn won the meet with a team score of 129; followed by Rising Sun with 111; East Central with 98; Switzerland County with 55; Lawrenceburg with 54; and Southwestern with 15.

Individually, Pacer Tray Meyer claimed Switzerland County’s only blue ribbon of the event, winning the high jump with a height of 5′ 10″.

Kyle Green was second in the long jump and the shot put; and Calen Otter was second in the high jump.

Zak Rayls was third in the shot put; and fourth place points were earned by the 400-meter relay team of Chad Robinson, Calen Otter, Anthony Dasis, and Jesse Bailey with a season-best time.

The 3,200-meter relay team of Tray Meyer, Anthony Dasis, Zach O’Neal, and Quinn Meyer also finished fourth.

Fifth places were earned by Anthony Dasis in the 110-meter high hurdles with a personal-best time; and he also finished fifth in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles.

The 1,600-meter relay team of Chad Robinson, Zach O’Neal, Kyle Jaynes, and Jesse Bailey was also fifth; and Kyle Jaynes placed sixth in the 800-meter run.

The Pacers return to action tonight (Thursday) in the ORVC Conference meet being held at South Dearborn High School. The meet will begin at 5 p.m.
