Boys track team in Rising Sun Invitational


The Switzerland County boys varsity track team finished third overall last Thursday in the Rising Sun Invitational.

Rising Sun won the meet with a team score of 155; followed by South Dearborn with 91 and Switzerland County with 82. Lawrenceburg had 49; Southwestern had 43; and East Central finished with 24.

Nathan Hickman won the 300-meter intermediate hurdles with a personal best time of :41.77; and he was second in the 110-meter high hurdles and also in the long jump.

Brandon Otter won the high jump with a height of 6’1″ to record Switzerland County’s only other blue ribbon.

Second places were earned by Clay Meyer in the 3,200-meter run; while Tray Meyer was third in the 3,200-meter run; Kyle Green was third in the shot put; and Brandon Otter was third in the long jump.

Fourth place points were earned by Zak Rayls in the shot put and Clay Meyer in the 1,600-meter run; while Tray Meyer was fifth in the 1,600-meter run and Jacob Chandler was fifth in the discus.

Also finishing fifth was the 400-meter relay team of Nathan Hickman, Kyle Green, Jesse Bailey, and Tony Meadows; the 1,600-meter relay team of Zach O’Neal, Chad Robinson, Jesse Bailey, and Kyle Jaynes; and the 3,200-meter relay team of Chad Robinson, Tray Meyer, Kyle Jaynes, and Zach O’Neal.

Sixth places were earned by Kyle Green in the high jump and Josh Abdon in the discus.

The Pacers compete in the conference meet tonight (Thursday) at South Ripley.
