The Switzerland County boys swim team competed recently in the North Harrison Boys “Icebreaker” meet.
Corydon Central won the meet with Switzerland County second overall. North Harrison was third and Lanesville finished fourth.
Individually for Switzerland County:
– The 200-yard medley relay team of Demetrie Liapis, Mikhail Cole, DeKota Godwin, and Brady Voris established a school record, finishing second overall in a time of 2:14.59.
– Brady Voris set a school record in the 500-yard freestyle with a second place finish in a time of 6:52.30. He also finished second overall in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:31.11.
- Mikhail Cole established two school records. He set a school record in the 200-yard individual medley by finishing fourth in a time of 2:45.95. He also established a mark in the 200-yard breastroke by finishing second in a time of 1:18.60.
- In the 50-yard freestyle race: Demetrie Liapis was seventh in a time of :28.89; Antonio Hernandez was 11th in a time of :36.17; and Charlie Reynolds was 14th in a time of :40.91.
– In the 100-yard freestyle race: Antonio Hernandez was 11th in a time of 1:25.91; and Charlie Reynolds was 13th in a time of 1:32.63.
– The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Mikhail Cole, DeKota Godwin, Antonio Hernandez, and Demetrie Liapis finished third overall in a time of 2:05.80.
– DeKota Godwin was fifth overall in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:39.87.
