On August 18th the Switzerland County boys junior varsity and varsity soccer season got underway with a set of matches against Scottsburg.
The varsity team battled the Warriors, and fought back late in the contest to come to a 3-3 tie. Goals were scored by Kris Hetrick, Josh Wegman, and Ian Sisson. Aaron Moore recorded 14 saves as the team’s goalie.
On Thursday evening, August 25th, the jayvee and varsity teams were in action at home against Rising Sun. In the junior varsity game, the Pacers ended up in a 0-0 tie. Goalie Codey Turner recorded six saves in the contest.
In the varsity game, Switzerland County fell to the Shiners by a final score of 2-0. Aaron Moore ended with 12 saves in the loss.
On Friday night, both squads again saw action at home against Madison Shawe.
The junior varsity squad won a hard-fought victory by a 1-0 score, with Devin Armstrong scoring the lone goal on an assist from Tyler Frazier. Codey Turner had four saves in goal.
The Hilltoppers came back in the varsity game to defeat Switzerland County by a 7-2 count. Goals for the Pacers were scored by Kris Hetrick and Ian Sisson, and Kris Hetrick also had an assist.
