The Switzerland County boys varsity soccer team earned its first victory of the season on Thursday night with a conference win over Milan.
The Pacers won the game in a shootout, as the game ended in a 1-1 tie. Switzerland County got its goal from Justin Barnes, with an assist from Ian Sisson.
Switzerland County won the shootout by a 3-1 count, with Nathan Hickman, Devon Armstrong, and Alec McAlpine doing the scoring.
Jordan Hewitt and Codey Turner shared time in goal, and coach Tony Spoores said that both did an excellent job.

The Pacers lost a heartbreaker on Tuesday night, falling to Madison Shawe by a 3-1 score.
Switzerland County took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Devon Armstrong and an assist by Ryan Peters to close out the first half; but Madison Shawe then tied the game with 20 minutes left in the second half.
The game stayed tied until there was less than three minutes to go, when the Hilltoppers scored on a fast break. Madison Shawe added another goal in the final minute of play to seal the victory.
