Boys game with Raiders is Saturday

Switzerland County High School athletic director David Todd has announced a change in the boys jayvee and varsity basketball schedule.

The boys game at South Ripley that was originally scheduled for Friday, February 6th, has been rescheduled for this Saturday afternoon, February 14th.

The game is set to begin with the junior varsity tipping off at 1 p.m.; and South Ripley officials hope that their new high school gymnasium will be finished – and that this will be the first game in the new gym.

The 1 p.m. tip off is necessary because that evening is the championship game of the girls basketball sectional, which is being held in Milan.

Should both the Switzerland County Lady Pacers and South Ripley Lady Raiders be eliminated from Sectional play, the boys game on Saturday will shift to the evening, with the junior varsity game getting underway at 6 p.m.

If the new South Ripley gym is not completed by Saturday, David Todd said that the game will either be played in the South Ripley Elementary School gym, which would mean very limited seating for fans; or at Jac-Cen-Del High School.

Due to conference rules about home and away games, the game cannot be played here because it would give the Pacers four home conference games; and each team is required to have three home and three away conference games each year.
