The Switzerland County School Board officially accepted the resignation of Superintendent Tracy Caddell at a special meeting held last Thursday, December 6th.
With all members present, the only item on the agenda was the resignation of Superintendent Caddell, who will become the superintendent of the Eastern Howard School Corporation at the beginning of next year.
A motion to accept the resignation was made by Virgil McKay, with a second by Vern Waltz.
Voting to accept the resignation were Andy Truitt, Virgil McKay, Bill Roberts, Wayne Daugherty, and Vern Waltz.
Board members Jim Phipps and Duane Cole voted against the motion.
The board then adjourned the meeting without putting a transition process in place. It is expected to continue that discussion at its meeting this Monday, December 17th.
