The Switzerland County Lady Pacers got back on the winning track last Thursday night with a 52-38 victory over Lawrenceburg.
The Lady Pacers got out of the gate early, scoring 26 points in the first quarter to put the game away early.
Lawrenceburg came back to outscore Switzerland County by four points in the second quarter, but it wasn’t enough, as the Lady Pacers headed to the lockerroom holding a commanding 34-22 lead.
Both teams played basically even in the third quarter, and Switzerland County wrapped up the game with a 9-6 advantage in the final stanza to put the finishing touches on a 14-point victory, 52-38.
Senior Courtney Cole led the Lady Pacers, finishing with 16 points on the night. She also had a team-high 10 rebounds to make it a double-double; and also had three steals and two assists.
April Thieman had eight points in the contest to continue her outstanding season. She also contributed five rebounds, three assists, and four steals in the game.
Amber Smith had seven points, including a three-pointer, and also had four steals in the game; while Megan McCarty finished with six points and two rebounds.
Morgan Ross had five points and six boards; and Tanya Sefton also had five points, including a three-pointer. Maggie Armstrong finished with four points, two rebounds, and two steals; and Kristen Perry had one point and four rebounds.
The Lady Pacers were outstanding at the freethrow line in the game, going 10-for-14 on the night; and were 8-for-9 in the first half.
The team also shot just over 40-percent from the floor for the night; and pulled down 37 rebounds.
Lawrenceburg was led by Caitlin Ernst, who finished in double figures with 11.
