A ‘Bicycle Safety Rodeo’ is being planned at the Paul Ogle Riverfront Park in Vevay, and all county children are urged to attend.
The event will be held this Saturday July 12th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the east parking lot of the park; and all children ages three and up may attend.
Boy Scout Troop #700 from Patriot will be conducting a bicycle safety rodeo to teach local youth how to safely and properly ride their bikes.
This event is free to the public. Riders are asked to bring their bikes and any safety equipment they might have to the park anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Riders will be taught how to complete a safety inspection on their bikes; proper riding techniques; hand and arm signals; riding on the road; emergency stopping; avoiding obstacles; and proper use of safety equipment.
Each rider will receive a safety checklist and a certificate after completing the course. Tricycles or bikes with training wheels are also included.
