Bicentennial medals available tomorrow

When the town of Vevay holds its monthly “First Friday” celebration tomorrow (Friday, March 4th), attendees will have a unique and historic opportunity.

Switzerland County’s Donna Weaver will be at the Switzerland County Visitors Center at the corner of Main and Liberty streets from 5-7 p.m. to meet guests and speak with everyone about her state design for the Indiana Bicentennial Medal.

An artist and a historic preservationist, Weaver’s design for the state’s commemorative medal was selected for use; and tomorrow night it will be available for purchase. The medal is available in two sizes: 1 3/4-inch and 3-inch.

Also available for purchase during “First Friday” will be “Indiana 200: A Celebration of the Hoosier State.”

For more information on “First Friday”, contact the visitors center at (812) 427-3237.
