Bicentennial items are now available

The Vevay-Switzerland County Bicentennial - the celebration of the community’s 200th birthday – will take place from October 4th-13th with a wide variety of events and activities for everyone.

In an effort to make as many of these events as possible free to the community; the Bicentennial Committee has been working on several fundraisers:

– A special program, ‘Founding Funders’, is working to get 200 individuals, families, groups of friends, or organizations to donate $200 towards the Bicentennial events.

The names of all ‘Founding Funders’ will be included in the Bicentennial time capsule.

– A commemorative medal has been sculpted by Vevay’s Donna Weaver, and a limited number of those are now available for sale at the Switzerland County Visitors Center at a cost of $50.

- A special Bicentennial Basket, featuring original etched and stained Bicentennial artwork, is also available at the Visitors Center. The baskets are a limited quantity, and sell for $50.

– The committee also has Bicentennial tee-shirts for sale; as well as handbags.

– The Ridge Winery also has a special Bicentennial Wine available.

The Community Foundation of Switzerland County is the fiscal agent for the Bicentennial, so any donations made are tax deductible.
