Bennington News 4-13-17


I lost a very dear friend this past week with the passing of Barry Marlman. Barry was in poor health for a very long time and fought a hard battle. He will be missed so much. My deepest sympathy to Kay and his daughters and also the grandchildren.

The boys club down the road from Bennington has been mowed – and what a wonderful improvement it has made. Scranton and Ellie Towers can rest in peace now that the land they loved so much looks like it did when Scranton kept it mowed with an old push mower.

I was at Swiss Villa one day this past week visiting my niece Betty Smith and her husband Harold. I saw Francis Weaver and she was having a lot of discomfort with her eye. I also saw Don Allen and he was just grinning and being funny.

Get well wishes to Jack Asbury who had knee replacement surgery at Dearborn County Hospital last week.

Happy birthday to Rosemary Bovard and Sharon Deck.

Bob and Betty Griswold attended the Masons Fish Fry on Friday evening at the lodge in Vevay and it was great. The food was wonderful. I hope they did well.

Jim and Sharon Ray, Aunt Esther, Rosemary Bovard, Bob and Betty Griswold went to the Japanese restaurant in Lawrenceburg on Saturday evening to celebrate Rosemary’s and Betty’s birthdays.
