A benefit for Alana Stegemiller on Sunday, Oct. 28th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Ohio County Senior Center.
A little history about Alana from her family’s Facebook.
She has a brain tumor about the size of a plum, called Suprasellar Pilocytic Astrocytoma. It is completely encased around her left optic nerve, hypothalamus, pituitary gland and left carotid artery. Only 40 percent of the tumor was able to be removed. Additionally she had a brain hemorrhage inside the tumor and a cyst about the size of a peanut. She is currently undergoing physical, occupational and speech therapy along with radiation and chemo to follow.
The proceeds from the benefit will help with non covered medical expenses, loss of income, transportation, and general support to help Alana return to the girl she was before this rare brain tumor.
