Ben Curran’s three wins lead Pacers in ORVC meet


Switzerland County senior Ben Curran really knows how to go out on top.

In fact, he did it three time last Thursday night in the ORVC conference track meet held at South Ripley.

He won three individual events to account for much of the team scoring for the Pacers.

Ben won the 110-meter high hurdles in a time of :16.2; the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in a time of :41.8; and the high jump with a height of 5’10”.

Overall, the Pacers finished fifth with 55 points. Rising Sun won the conference with a score of 129; followed by South Ripley with 73; Milan with 70; and Southwestern with 64. Jac-Cen-Del finished sixth with 43; and Madison Shawe had 30.

Freshman Keegan Morris was second in the 100-meter dash; Brad Rickett was fourth in the discus and the shot put.

Brody Splain was fifth in the 100-meter dash and sixth in the 200-meter dash; Jordan Lay was fifth in the 800-meter run; the Pacer 400-meter relay team of Max Anders, Keegan Morris, Brody Splain, and Ben Curran was fifth overall; and Cameron Papucci was sixth in the 3,200-meter run and 12th in the 1,600-meter run.

The 1,600-meter relay team of Bailey Bennett, Will Pike, Brody Splain, and Trayton Griffith was seventh overall; Luke Compton was seventh in the discus and eighth in the shot put; Bailey Bennett was eighth in the 400-meter dash and the long jump; and Will Pike was 10th in the 400-meter dash.
